About
A small studio for businesses that outgrew improvised IT.
Vicorp Solutions was registered in 2021, after its founder, Stephen Lwanga, had spent years watching the same pattern repeat: businesses running on spreadsheets held together by one overworked person, vendors selling systems nobody could maintain, and ‘temporary’ servers entering their sixth year of service.
The studio was built as the alternative — a small team of senior engineers doing three things well: advising on technology decisions, building custom software, and keeping infrastructure running. With over seven years of professional engineering behind it — full-stack web development, backend API design, systems integration — and clients wherever the work is.
We're not trying to become an everything-agency. The service list is short on purpose, the process is written down, and every engagement is designed so you could leave us — which is exactly why clients tend not to.

Operating principles
Six rules we don't negotiate on.
Small by design
We stay deliberately small so the person who scoped your project is the person building it. Growth that would break that isn't growth we want.
Senior by default
No pyramid of juniors billing under a senior's name. Fewer people, more experience per hour, less time explaining your business twice.
Written over meetings
Scopes, changelogs, decisions, post-mortems — in writing, where they can be re-read, challenged, and inherited. Meetings are for deciding, not reporting.
We own nothing of yours
Code in your repos, infrastructure in your accounts, credentials in your vault. Lock-in is a business model — it isn't ours.
Boring where it counts
Proven tools for the plumbing, curiosity for the product. The most valuable systems we build are the ones nobody has to think about.
An honest 'no'
Sometimes the answer is off-the-shelf software, or a smaller build, or not building anything. We'd rather lose a project than sell you a wrong one.
The best way to evaluate us is to put a real problem in front of us.
Bring the messy version. The discovery call works better that way.
